Great Pumpkin Patches & Corn Mazes to Check out in Colorado

Fall is everywhere, from golden leaves to windy days to pumpkin spice lattes. Speaking of pumpkin—right now is the perfect time for getting out to a pumpkin patch or corn maze in the area. The Colorado area has quite a few farms that are fairly close that host really great pumpkin patches and/or corn mazes that are fun for the whole family. Here are just a few corn mazes/pumpkin patches to check out.

Venetucci Farm Pumpkin Patch – Venetucci Farm is a historical farm located very near Colorado Springs. Its founders, Nick and Bambi Ventucci, operated the farm for years, and they had a tradition of having thousands of children visit their pumpkin patch every October. The Pikes Peak Community Foundation took the farm over in 2006. The farm also holds a Great Pumpkin Race that helps promote a healthy outdoor lifestyle and the hard work of farming, which can be accomplished with 10k or 5k distances. Check out their website www.PPCF.org/Venetucci-Farm for more information.

Long Neck Pumpkin Farm – The Long Neck Pumpkin Farm was a dream of farmers Kevin and Candy Longnecker long before they opened in 2015, and it’s been a huge success in Colorado Springs over the past few years. Candy is a kindergarten teacher, and she has a passion for making fun learning experiences for children while they enjoy a day at a pumpkin patch. Complete with activities like a Story Barn, a hay bale slide, giant building blocks, etc.—this will be a hit for any child. Their website—www.LongNeckPumpkinFarm.com—will give updated information.

Diana’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze  – Located in Cañon City, Diana’s Pumpkin Patch is run by a sweet family of four. It began 17 years ago with growing pumpkins, and they added their signature corn maze just a few years later. Every year, the corn maze is themed—and this year it’s a pirate theme. They also have hay rides, duck races, and, of course, hundreds of pumpkins. Go before they’re all gone! Check out the details at www.DianasPumpkinPatch.com.

Maize in the City Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze – If Denver is more your vibe for a weekend day trip, check out Maize in the City, which has been voted as the best corn maze in Colorado by Westword magazine. The corn maze has a smart phone trivia game you can play while navigating the maze, and it’s more than 20 acres large. They host a variety of activities each year, including pony rides, a petting zoo, a playground, a bounce house, and other fun kid-friendly activities. Go to www.MaizeintheCity.com for more info.

There are a bunch more, but these are just a few to highlight both locally and closer to the Springs. Wherever you end up going, have fun picking out that perfect pumpkin this year!
