Now is the time to enjoy the beautiful winter weather that Colorado is known for, and what better way to do so than spending some time outdoors skating?
Every year during November-January, Colorado Springs sets up a special outdoor skating rink at Acacia Park in the downtown area. Skate at the Park is $10 per person, and children under 4 are free. The military can get discounts, too. This fee pays for entrance and your skate rentals. Then you get to skate for long as you want on a beautiful outdoor skating rink!
For those of you who aren’t as familiar with downtown, Acacia Park is located near the beloved Tejon Street–near the heart of COS downtown’s amazing shops and restaurants. So going to skate at Skate at the Park is a great way to have some fun outdoor and then walk around downtown to check out the great stores, get a bite to eat, and enjoy the Christmas decorations.
The skating rink also has some fun special days, such as a Broncos themed skate day, a day where you can come to learn to skate with the Olympic US Figure Skating team, and an Ugly Sweater/Funny Hat skate day. So check out the special events to go have some extra fun while skating.
Skate at the Park isn’t open all winter–so definitely go while you have a chance to enjoy an outdoors skating rink right smack downtown! For more information about skating dates and times, check out their website.
