The World Cup Only Comes Around Every Four Years. The Right Home Doesn't Wait That Long.

Every four years, the world turns its attention to the World Cup. Fans plan watch parties, teams spend years preparing, and players wait for an opportunity that can change everything in a matter of moments.

It got me thinking: buying a home is a lot like preparing for a big tournament.

Most successful teams don’t wake up one day and decide they’re ready. They practice, build a strategy, and surround themselves with the right people. The same is true for buyers. The families who feel the most confident when the right home appears are usually the ones who have already done the groundwork, talked with a lender, understood their budget, and thought through what they truly want in a home.

And just like in sports, timing matters.

I hear a lot of people say they’re waiting for the “perfect” moment to buy. The reality is that the housing market rarely gives us a giant flashing sign that says Now is the perfect time. Interest rates change, inventory changes, and life changes. What matters most is whether the move makes sense for your goals, your finances, and your family.

The best opportunities often go to the people who are prepared when they show up. A home with the right view, the right neighborhood, or the right floor plan may not stay available for long. When you’re ready before the opportunity arrives, you can make decisions with confidence instead of scrambling under pressure.

That doesn’t mean rushing into a purchase. In fact, I’m a big believer that buying a home should feel intentional, not frantic. My goal is never to push someone into a house. It’s to help them build a clear game plan so they know what they’re looking for and how to recognize it when it appears.

Here in Colorado Springs, summer is one of my favorite times to help clients explore neighborhoods, enjoy the longer days, and picture what life could look like in a new home. Whether it’s a backyard with mountain views, a home near great schools, or a place that finally gives your family the space it needs, those opportunities are out there.

So while the World Cup may only come around every four years, you don’t have to wait that long for the right home. The key is having a strategy, a team you trust, and the confidence to be ready when your opportunity arrives.

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, or simply want a game plan for the next 6 to 12 months, I’d love to be a resource for you.
