September 23rd and 24th the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow

September 23rd and 24th the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow

“Air power is like poker. A second-best hand is like none at all – it will cost you dough and win you nothing.” – General George Kenney, Commander of Allied Air Forces in the Southwest Pacific, 1942-45

On September 23rd and 24th the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow will be taking place at the Colorado Springs Airport. The storied World War II fighter P 38 (nicknamed to the forked tail devil by the Germans) will be among the war planes. In addition, you will be able to see numerous types of aircrafts flying overhead, including our beloved Air Force Thunderbirds, The A-10 and the Historical “White 33” P-38, and many more! Come and enjoy a never before performance of the Air Force “Wings Of Blue” jumping from the World War 2 B-17. It is going to be a show you do not want to miss. The best part is the Pikes Peak Regional Airshow is ran by volunteers from a non-profit organization, with proceeds going to three Colorado Springs Museums.

If you plan on attending this magnificent event, please plan to be at the Colorado Springs Airport early. Parking starts at 7:30 am and the gates open at 8 am. The turnout for this show is expected to be very large, so try and arrive as early as possible!
