A Community People Continue to Choose

Each year, Air Force Academy Graduation Week brings a unique energy to Colorado Springs. Families travel from across the country to celebrate years of hard work, dedication, and achievement. For many graduates, it's the start of a new chapter. For their families, it's a chance to experience the community that has shaped those years.

Last month, as I watched Graduation Week unfold, I was reminded of something I see every day in real estate: people continue to choose Colorado Springs...not just as a place to live, but as a place to build a life.

Many military families arrive here because of an assignment. They don't necessarily expect to stay. Yet time and time again, I meet people who came to Colorado Springs for a season and ended up putting down roots. What began as a temporary stop became home.

Maybe it's the mountain views that never seem to get old. Maybe it's the sense of community that welcomes newcomers so quickly. Maybe it's the balance of opportunity, outdoor adventure, and family-friendly neighborhoods. Whatever the reason, Colorado Springs has a way of making people feel connected.

Some of my favorite client stories begin with a relocation. A family transfers here not knowing anyone. They spend a few years exploring the city, finding their favorite coffee shop, discovering hiking trails, making friends, and becoming involved in local schools, churches, and organizations. Before long, they're no longer talking about where they came from but more so the future they're building here.

That's what makes this community special.

Real estate is often viewed as a transaction, but for me, it's always been about people and the lives they're creating. A home is where milestones happen. It's where children grow up, holidays are celebrated, friendships are formed, and memories are made. Choosing a home is often part of choosing a community.

Graduation Week was a reminder that Colorado Springs continues to attract talented, driven individuals from all over the country. Some will move on to their next assignment. Others will find themselves returning years later. And many will discover what so many residents already know: this city offers something worth investing in.

Not simply because of the homes here, but because of the people.

As we celebrated this year's graduates and the families who supported them along the way, it's worth recognizing what makes Colorado Springs so special. It's a community built on service, resilience, connection, and opportunity. And year after year, it's a community people continue to choose.

Congratulations to the graduating class, and thank you to the military families whose commitment continues to strengthen the fabric of our city.
